Christmas lights by the case

Christmas Lights Distributor sells Christmas lighting supply in the quantities it's packed in: LED C9 bulbs in 500-count cases, clips in cases of 1,000 to 3,000, plugs in 1,000-count cases, light stakes in 250-count cases, mini light strands in 24-strand cases and photocell timers in 4-packs. Every item is also sold in a smaller pack for fill-in orders. Prices are listed on every product and apply to every buyer, with no application, login or order minimum.

What's in each case

Bulbs

LED C9 bulbs in 500-count cases fill 500 sockets: 500 ft. of 12 in. socket wire, 625 ft. at 15 in., or 1,000 ft. at 24 in. Minleon LED C9 bulbs are also sold by the 500-count case. Bulbs use the E17 intermediate base.

Clips and mounting

C9 O-clips come in 1,000-count cases, all-in-one clips in 3,000-count cases, magnet clips in 2,000-count cases and shingle tabs in 1,000-count cases. Ridge clips come in 500-count cases and tile and fascia clips in 50-packs. Count one clip per socket.

Power

Male and female slide-on plugs are sold in 50-packs and 1,000-count cases. Photocell timers are sold singly and in 4-packs. Lamp cord and SPT-2 zip plugs cover leads and extensions.

Mini lights and stakes

4 in. and 6 in. spacing LED mini strands are sold singly or in 24-strand cases, 1,200 lights per case. 8 in. C9/C7 light stakes come in 25-packs and 250-count cases.

Spools and kits

C9 socket wire is sold on 1,000 ft. spools at 12 in. and 24 in. spacing, as a 12/15 in. SPT-2 spool, and on magnetic spools. C9 installation kits combine wire, bulbs, plugs and clips at 250, 500, 1,000, 2,000 and 4,000 ft.

Mixing cases and packs

Ordering in case units makes counting simple, and adding a pack covers the remainder without opening a second case. A 560-socket job, for example, is one 500-count bulb case plus three 25-packs. The pricing table shows the per-unit price at each quantity so the split can be checked before ordering.

Keeping stock consistent

Buying a color temperature by the case keeps every run cut from that case identical. When an order covers several jobs, order each white in full cases where the footage allows, and keep the case label with the open stock so a reorder can be matched to the exact option name. The same applies to mini strands: a 24-strand case keeps every tree on one property in the same color.

Shipping, fees and returns

Shipping is free on all orders, from a single pack to a pallet's worth of cases, and every order ships the same day within the United States. There are no processing or handling fees. Unused, unopened product in its original packaging can be returned within 30 days of delivery.

Ordering in case units

Distributor-style buying starts from the case, not the job. Each case is a fixed number of units, and each unit covers a known amount of footage, so an order can be planned by converting the season's footage into case counts and filling the remainder with packs. This guide lists what each case covers and how to size an order around them.

Coverage for bulbs and clips depends on socket spacing, shown here as 12 in. / 15 in. / 24 in. One bulb and one clip go on each socket. Prices are from the current catalog.

Socket wire is sold the same way, by the 1,000 ft. spool: one spool at 12 in. spacing has 1,000 sockets, which is two bulb cases' worth.

Sizing a season's order

1. Total the footage by spacing. Add up every roofline across the season's jobs, separately for each spacing used.
2. Convert to sockets. Feet at 12 in. equals sockets. Feet at 15 in. times 0.8. Feet at 24 in. times 0.5.
3. Divide by the case count. Sockets divided by 500 gives bulb cases. Sockets divided by the clip case count gives clip cases.
4. Fill the remainder with packs. Round down to whole cases and cover what's left with 25-packs of bulbs and 100-packs of clips, or round up when the remainder is close to a full case.
5. Count runs for plugs. One male plug per run, plus one female for every run that feeds another, plus spares for re-cuts.

Example

A season with 1,800 ft. of roofline at 12 in. spacing needs 1,800 bulbs. That's 3 cases of 500 (1,500 bulbs) plus 12 packs of 25 for the remaining 300, at $1,196.40 in bulbs. Ordering one more full case instead covers the remainder and leaves 200 bulbs for re-lamps. The same footage needs about 1,890 clips with breakage allowance, or 2 cases of 1,000 O-clips.

Splitting cases across jobs

Cases are planned against the season, not a single job. A bulb case opened on one house finishes on the next, and a clip case lasts across many jobs. Track opened cases by color temperature so a job never ends up with two different warm whites on the same roofline. Keep the case label with the remaining stock; it identifies the color temperature and bulb style when it's time to reorder a match.

When to buy packs instead

Packs make sense for re-lamps, small add-on jobs, colors used on only one or two jobs, and the few products where the pack works out lower per unit. The pricing table above shows the pack and case price for each product side by side.

Reordering mid-season

Shipping is free on every order with and orders ship the same day, so a single case or a few packs can be reordered when stock runs short without waiting to build a larger order. Unopened, unused product in original packaging can be returned within 30 days of delivery.
